VERY small gains... better than nothing, right?

I had my doctors appointment today and was told that my cervix is very soft and thin and that I'm 1cm dilated. She also showed me part of my mucus plug that came out on her fingers (gag! lol). Of course I was elated because last time I was still completely  closed. My friend of course laughed at me because I was so happy about my little 1 cm. I am a FTM and just glad to know anything is happening down there, especially since I haven't felt much at all, as far as BHs. For the mommies who are on baby 2+, what has been you experience with how soon labour started once you got the news that I did today? I know every woman and every pregnancy is different but just thought it would be good to hear some stories. I'm 38 + 5. I know that it could still be some time but for some reason, even 1 cm makes me happy. I guess it makes the thought of my precious boy being here soon all the more realistic. I think this is seriously the most excited I've been so far. :-)

I'm a ftm and on Dec 31st I wasn't thinned or dilated. I had to go to the hospital due to swelling on the 3rd, and I was dilated 3cm and had lost my mucus plug. I'm due on the 23rd. Yay!!! Almost there :):)

Do lots of squats/walking and get to humpingg.
