Today's my due date

January 6,2016
I am scheduled to be induced on the 15th, I will be 41 weeks 2 days on that day.  For the past 3 weeks I have been thinned out and barely 1cm dialated. Have not lost my mucuous plug yet either.  This is my first baby. Obviously I want her here already, though I dont wish to rush anything. I am nervous about being induced - I would prefer labor to come on its own. What are your opinions on the chances of me going naturally in the next 9 days ??? And also, what are your views\experience with induction ? I feel as though it would take FOREVER

With my first I had no sign of any progression at 40 weeks but I got really big so my doctor decided to induce me a couple of days after. He admitted me a night before so they could soften my cervix and next morning they started pitocin. I progressed very slowly at first and my boy went into distress once (for 3 minutes) about 8h later but I was already on an epidural as well so I wasn't helping my body progress labor in any way.

Doc recommended I consider a C-section but I told him no not unless my little one goes into distress again. (My doc at the time was lazy and just wanted to get it over with) that's when hubby and I called our loved ones (we didn't want them there the whole time knowing it's such a long process) once I saw my mom I guess my body relaxed and I went from 2cm-9cm in 15minutes!
An hour later baby boy was born healthy with no problem. He had gone into distress because the cord was around his neck but my nurse was awesome and coached me well, I didn't even tear with a 8lb 4 oz baby

My boy is 5.5 years old now completely healthy, bright and as sweet as they come.

Don't worry too much mama take it one step at a time and relax. Trust your body! Best of luck to you :)

You could definitely have her on your own in the next five days. I was only 1cm and 50% effaced when I went into labor with my first. There's hope yet.
