What an awful exerience! I've never heard of anyone reacting like that to an epidural - blech. That would be enough to make me never want one!! I've had bad reactions to anesthesia before - when I had my wisdom teeth out I got sick... The nurse told me last week I was itchy b/c of the meds for my blood pressure...? Who knows - either way, I'm glad you're doing better!
well after i got the epidural the saga began. i started feeeling loopy and drugged up. i vomitted during labor and after labor. well i got some relieve around 9 pm cause they gave me a shot. i had my son 6:35 am the thursday morning. say it lasted like 14 hrs. everythin i ate came back up. even water and ice. i was fallin down, my head dizzy and spinnin. i beleive that man gave me to much anesthia or some ****. i was itching to.
Wow! I'm glad things turned out okay - how long did it take for you to feel better, for the meds to settle down? I was sick as a dog all day - felt like I wanted to vomit and had diarrhea all day. I did vomit at about 4 and went to the hospital for fluids - turns out I was 4/5 cm at that point. They wanted a urine specimine, and I ended up vomiting at the hospital again - and they said not to worry about it. My blood pressure dropped and they gave me some ephidrine (I think) that made me itchy - other than that - I felt fine!
well i was pushin and he wouldnt come out. the doctor didnt cut down there. i guess she wasnt expecting him to be so big. he was 6 14. when she got the vacum on his head, i saw moons and stars. he came bustin out in full force.lol that's when she realize his cord was around his neck. i was bein prepared for a c-section but he came out. it wasnt that scary because i was so out of it. meanin vomittin and loopy like i on drugs. i cant believe an epidural did this to me. i cant wait to go get my medical record lol. i need to know wat happened.
Wow- that must have been scary for you! A friend delivered her son on the same day my guy was born and had to have a c-section for failing to progress... I guess I should consider myself luck to have been able to deliver him vaginally - episotomy and all. I have two other friends who recently had their babies c-section - one emergency when she was 34 wks b/c of a ruptured placenta and the other was scheduled b/c of some other complications.
wow. congrats. all the people that were pregnant wid me, majority of then tried to deliver vaginaly but ended up havin c-sections. cause the cord was around the baby's neck, the baby was facing up or the heart rate drop. luckily for me my son came out even though his cord was around his neck. i thank God for that.
Thanks - he was 6lbs 4 oz and 19 inches at birth. The nurse kind of laughed when she was checking his length saying he'd probably shrink b/c he has such a little cone head. I guess he got a little stuck on the way out in my pubis bone. That and I had no idea how to push b/c I had an epidural and couldn't feel anything!
Congrats to you and your fam!
congrats on ur bundle of joy. how much did he weight. post some pics soon.
