Jeremy's newest update

Thursday Aug 6th we had our first app w Jeremy's hematologist it was after they drew labs they decided Jeremy needed to be admitted to the hospital for observation and more lab work. During the first few hrs after being admitted the dr on call decided he needed a blood transfusion. Not only does Jeremy have A B and O incompatability but there is another underlying issue. Both myself and dh had to have our blood drawn also to try to sort out why our lil boy is so sick. We will not know what the other issue is for a few weeks. The reason it will be so long is they have to do all kinds of studies on his blood etc. So we are home now and all this week until is next app on the 17th w his hematologist we will see his pediatrician for weight checks and blood work we also have to take him to the hosp again for blood work and then an hr before his app on the 17th he has to have more bloodwork again. Since Jeremy's birth he has had blood work done almost everyday of his life. I feel so bad for my lil man. I can't do anything to help him and it hurts. In our stay in the hosp however I met a woman whose 3yr old daughter has stage 4 stomach cancer we ended up exchanging emails and numbers to keep in touch. We helped each other as mother's she held Jeremy while her attitude reminded me it could be alot worse. However like she said along w the nursing staff and dr's it can't get any worse when your 2 wk old is hooked up to all kinds of tubes and wires getting some stranger's blood and you have no idea the kind of road that lies ahead for him. My dh was my biggest hero he didn't leave Jeremy's or my side once. I'm very very lucky for his love and support! He is the wind behind my sails and my strength at this point! I just wanted to let you guys know you have all been so great and so supportive throughout my complicated pg and so awesome after I finally delivered him. I just need some of your support now I'm really hanging on by a thread. My dh said I did a awesome job during our stay w Jeremy at the hosp but I said all I did was not have a breakdown. I'm hoping I don't anytime soon. I had enough emotional set backs through his pg. I'm kind of just going w the flow while we wait to see what his plan will be! What both me and dh are up against and with Jeremy's sickness. I truly hate the waiting it is agony. Thanks for listening to me take care I wish you all the best!

Sorry about the problems. I have a background in transfusion medicine. What do you mean by A B and O incompatability? That doesn't make sense to me, sorry I can try to give you advice or a prognosis if you elaborate more.

So he is severely anaemic that he has to get a blood transfusion? Red cells, platelets or plasma?

I just want you to know that I literally just said a prayer for you guys!!  Here I am complaining that I'm not getting any sleep bc of my colicy baby, and you are going through so much.  Please know that I will continue to pray for you and your little guy!  Please keep us posted - we are all here for you as you have been for us throughout these last  9 months!

i'm so sad and sorry for you and Jeremy... I know what you mean when you say that it breaks your heart to be able to make his pain go away... you are doing exactly what you should be doing, supporting him and staying with him through it all... that's what he needs from you....

I am so sorry to hea Jeremy is sick, I pray he will get better and the docs will beb bale to find what is going on with him. I know how you are feeling is so hard to see your little ones sick and not be able to anything. Hang in there, we are here for you too.
