1st appointment

Hi Ladies,

I'm concerned. Many of you are having your 1st appointment at 5 - 6 weeks and my Dr. said he didn't want to see me until week 8.  Is that bad? Why would he want to wait?

The only reason my dr saw me at 3 weeks is because that is when I took a hpt. I have have reoccuring m/cs and he wanted to track my hcg levels immediately. At 8 weeks you should be able to see the baby via u/s and it truly is less worrying on your part. Three weeks will fly. Right now enjoy being pregnant. Congrats and good luck.

I was told it would be 12 weeks for my booking appointment and scan, but I'll be 13 and a half weeks on 21st Jan.

Well, I'm a little grouchy about this because my first appt is December 11th, I will be 11 weeks by then. I had to go to the hospital at 8 weeks, thats the only reason why I have seen the baby so far. I wish they would have seen me earlier like other doctors!

I have a history of m/c's and my dr. wants to see me at 7 weeks.  If there is no need for concern, anytime between 8 - 10 weeks is normal.

yeah i am high risk pregnancy so i have to be seen immediately. But its not uncommon for a doctor to want to wait till 8wks or so if ur not having any problems.

I have heard a lot of women say that their doctors tell them 8 weeks, I think it depends on the doctor. My doctor wanted to confirm the pregnancy so that is why they had me go in.
