Great news - my cervix is 3.9 - considering with my leep I am normally only 4 - I am pretty happy - she turned (no crawling required) but it is still pretty early and she has lots of room.... so now she is head down with her little hands between her head and my cervix.  I go back in 2 more weeks for a level 1 and vaginal - I am happy things are going well - I really think these shots are making all the difference!

the us tech said she never heard of the crawling but I got it off a you tube vidoe of a midwife in Mexico. It does work and I loved it as it took pressure off everything. You can also go to spinning babies.com and they ahve great info. Let me know if it works:) They can still move till like 32-34 weeks unless they are engaged but if you keep it up they are more rlikely to stay the right way once moving form what I hear. You know those cerviacl kicks are un nerving compared to the uterine ones! I always would say ouch or move real fast from the pain. At least it does not last long ehh:)

I was getting pummeled last night by the baby kicking down at my cervix - I might do the crawling thing - I would rather be on bedrest at home because of the pressure than deal with the pain like last night - with my DD her feet were just stuck in the birth canal so there was no real power behind those kicks as she did not have enough room to wind up - this one feels like she is kicking with all her might .. UGH!  Crawling.. here I come tonight!

I think I would tell the dr to start the shot anyway, it does nto hurt anything and the fact it is changing even though it is still good means they need to be agressive before something were to happen!

Henry, this one, was breech from 13 weeks to 23 weeks then I crawled for an hour and he is turned right. I had more pressure from his feet kicking my cervix then I do his head at this point. Just more streching pain higher near my bladder.

oh ok but no I havent had any funneling at all so far this pregnancy so im guessing that I am in good shape at what week did you start contracting at?

With the one at 20 weeks and I was at 1.5cm I was put on bedrest at home and everything was okay - some visits to L&D and some contractions - but they removed the stich at 35 weeks and NOTHING happened - had a c section 4 weeks later. I go back on thursday for my 22week check - she has been moving around a lot but last us she was frank breech - bottom down - which I think is helping keep the pressure off my cervix - my 1st was footling breech with both feet in the birth canal at 19 weeks - and my son was head down early on - I think creating more pressure than my cervix could hold then turned butt down too... i think as long as this one stays butt down I will be good! Your cervix looks good for length - does it funnel when they apply pressure?  My docs with this pregnancy are checking manually every other week and us the opposing weeks.  It is odd as with my last one they would not manually check in fear of starting things going... I asked my high risk dr why this change and he said they are concerned more for the stich giving than starting things going as I have an abnormally shaped cervix (from the LEEP and previous cerclage) kind of made my cervix in bad shape...

no im no on the shots as we speak but i was told that i was goin to start the shots earlier in ma pregnancy around 16wks but my doc doesnt think i need them as of ryte now hopefully hes rite i wish i could still have them just to cover all of the precautions. he wants to wait untill my cervix starts looking bad to put me on the shots which i dont think is a very good idea but hopefully it doesnt come to that point. my cervical length has been pretty steady i think what do yu think at 16wks it was 4.1 at 18wks it was 3.8 at 20 wks it was 3.5 and at 22wks it was 3.6 so????

I was 3.6 at 18 weeks and 3.8 at 20 and 4.2 at 21 and 25 am 4.5  The shots I am on are helping it grow and stay good. I was told by my high risk ob that anything over 3 is considered normal and nothing to worry about. That means woman without one are around there. Are you on shots too? I know that has been show to legthen the cervix and close it back up. It is used for incompitent cervix as well as pre term lbaor or history of either. I only have the history of the pre term labor and deliveries though. Just make sure they only check you by us!!!! I had premature rupture of membranes becasue I had to many vaginal checks when I had contractions. The high risk OB said that is a big NO NO! best of luck to you and rest!

I went into preterm with both my previous pregnancies along with the IC. Daughter I made it to 32 weeks - she is perfectly healthy and big for 7 years old.. Son I made it to 39 weeks.. I am getting progesterone shots weekly along with my cerclage to prevent issues like I had before - so far things are going smoothly

with my daughter I delivered at exactly 40wks, so I would say a big yes lol...and with this one there's no reason to expect that I won't make it to term either...same progression that I had with my daughter and as long as a complication doesn't arise i have a good chance of making it past 37wks.

Do they measure with ultrasound or exam? I'm getting an ultrasound on Wed at 26 weeks & they are going to check the length of the cervix? to make sure there is no sign of preterm labor before I fly on vacation. Not sure what it's suppose to be at- anyone know?
