My fourth and last baby finally arrived this morning at 8:35 am. My husband and I came in so I could be induced at 5 pm August 4th and started cervadil around 8. Sadly I had a funneling cervix that prevented natural labor but after only a few hours the cervadil began contractions around 1 am. Unfortunately, I wasn't dialating passed 1.5 cm. Around 6 am, after yoga ball laboring, walking, and a hot shower, my contractions began coming in one minute increments and extremely intense. Still only about 2 cm. By the time my 7 am nurse rotation (both RN's were friends of mine - huge bonus!), I drastically changed to a 4 with 100% effacement. Plans were for pitocin after the cervadil but there was no need! After my husband called my mother to have her bring the kids to the hospital to see their brother be born, I was checked again and was at a 6. Mind you, these were the worst labor pains I've ever experienced! By the time we made it to the delivery room, my bag of waters was bulging out and I was ready to push. My doctor came in, threw her purse on the ground, tossed on some scrubs and said push. Three horrendous contractions later and Samuel Martin entered this world with a near perfect APGAR score. No pain meds used. I've had minimum bleeding or pain and now have a gorgeous baby boy that adores and is adored by his older siblings. Hang in there to anyone still waiting!
