I personally would refuse it. There may be no need to go into 'overtime' but there is also no need to rush things. She will come when she is ready. A lot of inductions end in c-sections. The problem is that as soon as they put you on pitocin, you automatically become considered high risk. If you fail to progress as fast as they want you to, they don't simply stop the pitocin and send you home, you will require a c-section. Yes things can go alright, and they do for some people, but there is a reason why cs rates have inclined as inductions have. You are forcing your body to do something it is not ready to do. You can always try other methods of inductions, such as membrane stripping, evening primrose oil, etc. Those can help get things going if your body is ready, but won't harm you or the baby if it is not.
I'll be 40+3 tomorrow and I'm getting induced tomorrow morning. I've read all the horror stories and all the postive ones. It's completely up to you. I'm a ftm, so who knows what my induction will be like, but everybody is different.
Don't do it! 37 weeks is to soon to even speak of induction, what's the Dr rush? I 39 weeks and my son is still not reasy... I am of course ready to hold him, but he is not. Wait it out induction should only be used when you are over 41 weeks hell they can wait till 42 as long as the ypu and the baby are fine. If there is no medical reason to induce then wait.
Stand up for what you want. You don't have to be induced just because it is easier for the doctor. Let her come naturally. Too many complications from being induced.

I'm being induced at 39+1, which is 3 days away. Everyone I know that's been induced, at least 10 people, haven't had issues with it. But that's also where I live, through my doctor, and he may just be more knowledgeable about it. Or it could just be different pregnancies different labors, and all my friends and family have just been part of the good ones. I personally know more people who had issues with their epidural not working right.
I'm due on July 12th. When I went to see my doc this week I was 38 wk 4 days. I asked her if was bad I wasn't having any contraction and she said no it's fine. Some people don't feel anything till the day of labor. But she did suggest to read up on membrane stripping and it was something she could do when I came in next week at 39+4 days. But she didn't really push it. Just put it out as an option. I'm all for the baby coming when it wants to unless it's causing any medical issues. I don't see why doctors so times want to push it early.
Always such conflicting sides/stories. I'm definitely 85% opposed to it and also wouldn't want a c-section. Yes, I do believe she should come when she's ready. Any baby for that matter unless it's an emergency or has to be done.
No no no. Every one of my friends that are first time moms and got induced all had csections. She will come when she's ready. You will be setting yourself up for a long hard labor. (Most likely)
My mom asked to be induced a week early with all 8 of us. Some took forever and some flew right out. Every baby and every body is different.
Don't do it. My doctor said the same thing to me with my first child she automatically scheduled me to get induced at 39 weeks. I didn't know any better and did it anyways, wishing I hadn't was in labor for 23 hours With soooooo many unnecessary medications . Should have done my research before
Dont go thru it it takes way longer that way. First they induce you then tou star having mild contractions then you start to dilate whicj it can take up to 15 hours or.more ! If you wait for your baby when its ready it goes by a lot faster. And easier
