taking away my excitment

My mother is sucking the excitement out of events that should be special for me and her granddaughter. She has non-stop complained about having to plan my baby shower and how expensive it's going to be.. I'm not asking for anything elegant , actually I haven't once given an idea or oopinion I was leaving it for her . she makes my pregnancy seem like an inconvenience for her and is taking away what should be a special time ...

I am sorry you are dealing with this.  Try to enjoy whatever you can anyway.  Maybe talk with her a little less frequently or adapt what my hubby does, tune her out.  He literally is at a table with his mom and I will try to chat with him about something she said and he will deny her saying it..... I think he tunes her out.  So frustrating for you I can imagine!   WE are all excited with you!  Babies are coming in July!!!!!!  :)  Take care of yourself and enjoy the shower!!!

Thats how my mom would be too if it was a something that she has to invest in.. no matter what. But when that day comes and when you see everything she did for the event you'll probably be very thankful and joyous..
