Rough day...

I'm 29 weeks today and found out I have a sinus infection. I was really hoping not to have to take medication but the doctor thought it best. What's worse is my mom is making my feel guilty for filling the prescription. I already feel terrible, I didn't need to be talked down to and feel like I'm not making a good decision for my baby. Im sorry, I just needed to vent :(

This Is my second time this pregnancy taking antibiotics for severe sinuses infections.   Most antibiotics are completely safe for pregnancy and it is better to take them vs. Your infection spreading and ending up hospitalized.   Your immune system is surpressed now so it's best not to let the infection run rapid through you.   BTW I've taken antibiotics at least once during each of my 4 pregnancies and had no issues.  feel better

I currently have a sinus infection. I've been taking an antibiotic for almost a week now. It helped tremendously. You need to get better not worse. Believe me I did not want to take meds while being pg but I need to stay/get healthy. Good luck to you!

I have many rude thing I would encourage you to say to your mom, but let's try to be polite and tell her your doctor knows more about what is good for your baby than she does. Infections can migrate in your body if not kept in check. If your doctor is prescribing you something, it will be something tested with pregnancy, and therefore safer than the illness has the potential to be. Don't let anyone make you feel bad for doing what is best for you and your baby.

Sometimes the Dr knows best not the mother... if your sick your body can't take care of your baby the way a healthy body can.. think air planes put on your oxygen mask first then your babies.. healthy mom = healthy baby :)
