One other thing it could be (if it's really low) are the groin muscles or hip flexors since your body is producing the hormone relaxin which allow the muscles etc. to stretch.  .  Another thing it could be are ovarian cysts which are common during the early part of pregnancy - such as corpus luteal cysts or other type of fluid filled cysts that usually resolve on their own and while they can be painful are not harmful.

I think it's a good thing for you to see the doctor and mention the discomfort.  Usually the pains while definitely bothersome are not dangerous but it's better to have had it checked out by a professional who can also put your mind at ease.

Let us know how your appointment goes.

In addition to anything I have mentioned, please keep in mind, that while I or others may have extensive knowledge in many areas, you should always seek professional medical advice from your own physician, as it pertains to medical conditions or concerns.

Good luck, and if you have any other questions that I can help you with, please feel free to message me directly.

Sincerely,

Hi Memo0288,

Don't worry.  If this is your first pregnancy you probably wont show for a bit yet.  In my first pregnancy I literally didn't show until I was past 6 months pregnant.  It saddened me because my cousin's wife who was only 8 weeks farther along then I was showed from literally 4 months.  I felt sort of cheated because I felt that I wasn't able to enjoy the pregnancy look as much as others were.  But let me tell you, this time around, (just coming up on 16 weeks now) I am showing big time.  I posted a new photo in my album.  But just know I completely know what you mean and I worried too when it was me.  It is quite normal.  Also the feelings you have are called "Round Ligament stretching".  Most of the time it's the ligaments that are around your uterus, but sometimes the more dull pains are the uterus.  When you feel the sharper pains or pulling pains, these are the ligaments.  This too had me all going crazy thinking something was terribly wrong.  It happens right around this time especially in first time pregnancies since your body has never gone through it before.  I don't feel it quite like I did the first time as then it was nearly painful.  So long as the pain subsides when you change position or doesn't go on for long periods of time continuously it's likely just the ligament stretching.  If it becomes constant you should mention it to your doctor.  Keep a journal of all the things you go through or put it into your Medhelp journal.  It will help you recall for next time or something to pass onto your children when they have these exact same questions!

I get pains as well, the doctor said it's just the uterus stretching and it's completely normal.
