If you feel the need to give in try to turn to chewing gum or puff on a straw as silly as it seems! :) congrats on two days smoke free!
2 Days, thats great! Keep up the good work.
Two days smoke free yay, im so proud.
I have been working hard on not smoking my hubby and I are doing it together, I think this really mite help.
Is it possible to ask your friends not to smoke around you? At least to go outside for now? I would imagine it would be easier to quit if you weren't constantly exposed to it, but the second-hand smoke is also not good. I think they would probably be happy to do it if they knew it was for the little one.
Good luck with this, I know its hard. I don't smoke but I watched my father try to quit for over 20 years. He started in Vietnam n finally kicked the habit about 10 years ago...he's so proud of himself, and we are proud of him. So hang in there; it can be done. :)
I have been finding it realy hard to quit smoking, everyone around me smokes and I just cant get my head round it. I know its no good for my baby and everytime I have one I feel so guilty.
Think im going to have to try harder :-( x
Hi,
I managed to quit smoking cold turkey years ago with my first pregnancy. It wasn't easy, but it helped that it was one of my biggest aversions. You should talk to your OB, they will offer you support and suggestions. They may recommend using the patch at the low level and weaning that way. I believe it is considered safer because even though you are getting the nicotine you are not getting the toxins you do when you actually smoke a cigarette. Please ask your Dr. first. Wanting to quit is a big first step, and it's much easier when you have support and recommendations of the safest ways to do it from your Dr. Good luck!
