When will they check to see if I am dilated? And my midwife never says how bug my baby is or anything she just ask if there's any problems and then that's it.

All depends on the situation. With my first midwife, 5 years ago she didn't check me once until I was in labor. She said it's not something that really needs to be done now. I had a specialist give me a sweep at 39 weeks and she made a decision to induce me. I'm currently 35 weeks and haven't had it checked this time either

Different practitioners follow different protocol. My midwife doesn't routinely do cervical checks at prenatal visits - when I had my first, I was never checked until I asked for an update about 13 hours into labor. There isn't any good reason to perform routine checks on low risk women who don't show signs of preterm labor or other complications - it doesn't give any useful information and can increase the risk of cervical irritation or infection.
Some doctors start checking weekly at 36 weeks or so but that's mainly just due to pressure from their patients who just expect that it should be done regardless of any actual risks or benefits.
As for those quick and straightforward appointments,  that's exactly how it should work for being low risk. A quick listen to fetal heartbeat, measuring the fundal height, checking on your blood pressure and weight gain, and asking about movement and any problems or questions you may be wondering about. That's it. Fast and easy, in and out and on to the next patient. There's not much to do at this point. It's just a waiting game.

Not sure when they will check, but for me Dr had to check because I had some bleeding Monday. I went in Thursday I was 1cm dilated. I'm 32 weeks going on 33 tomorrow.
