i'm 32+3 and i just got done with an 8 hour car trip. as long as you take plenty of short stops to pee and stretch your legs, drink a lot of water... and invest in a good pair of compression stockings... you'll be fine! talk to your soc to be sure though. :) enjoy!! we're almost done.
I drove 4 hours away 3 days before my due date with my last son to attend my cousins wedding, I danced at the ceilidh as much as I could, drove 4 hours home the next day...my son was still 6 days late! Take all your notes and enjoy yourself, might be your last chance to relax for a while :)
I'm 32 weeks and my doctor doesn't want me to travel any longer then 2 hours. With a rest in between at the hour mark. I would talk to your doctor/midwife first. Every pregnancy is different they may not have an issue with it.
I think that sounds awesome :-) enjoy yourself, just get out and stretch once or twice during the trip. My hubby and I are going on a bit of a road trip next weekend, not quite so far away, but I'm excited to get away. Have fun!
I personally would go because I live in the middle of nowhere so everything is a long drive for me so I am use to it. Also this being your first labour it won't likely be crazy fast, so if you start to feel something then leave! I think that if you feel up for it then go and enjoy a weekend of relaxation before baby comes and life changes, good luck!!!
Personally I wouldn't. I last 2 babies came around 37/38 wks also. I would be way too nervous to relax. Maybe do a true stay-cation at a really nice hotel/resort that's close to home. Talk to Ur dr, see what they say. I'm 33+ wks this wkend we're staying at a great resort. It's a way to get away but still be close to home.
I gave birth to my first baby at 37 weeks. You never know what can happen. But my doctor doesn't recommend traveling for more than 2 hours. The concern is blood clotting. I was told if I have to travel for more than 2 hours, I need to take a break and walk around at the 2 hour mark. Which is easy to do since I have to pee every 45 minutes, lol! (I am on the highway alot and won't stop traveling until I'm 35 weeks.)
You'll b fine just take any antenatal records (if u have them) with u just incase... I'm sure you'll b fine!!
