definitely check with your insurance first like the ladies above mentioned. luckily my insurance (aetna) covers breast pumps! I'm in the process of figuring out which one i want.i just emailed my insurance & they provided me with a link to websites to choose from. good luck!

I got the medals one from my insurance for free. You should check with your insurance company before you go buy your own

I tried a Medela and an Ameda and preferred the Ameda...personally the suction on the Ameda was better.

I liked my Ameda. It worked great and had a year warranty.

Yep Medela. It's pretty unanamous. I tried a couple different manual ones and medela electric is the best. Just be sure to get the right funnel size for your nipples, otherwise you may have some pain. Took me a few weeks to figure that out and once I did it was night and day.

I must agree, the Medela electric. It works great very efficient. I had left it on vacation once, so I went to the store and got a cheap pump.... It was awful and did not work. They  are  a bit expensive but worth every penny. If you can't afford to go buy one check with the hospital you are having the baby. Most hospitals will rent good breast pumps (my experience most/all hospitals use the Medela pump), because your renting it from a hospital it will be properly sterilized. Also keep an eye out at stores like Babies-R-Us, Target and a website Albee Baby, the Medela pumps do go on sale. **Another GREAT thing to get is a hands free pumping wrap. If you have an electric pump you attach the cups in the wrap (really easy) and you can pump both breasts at the same time.
