fat shaming during pregnancy
Has anyone else been fat shamed during thier pregnancy? Today while at davids bridal with my friend i was trying on bridemiad dresses for her wedding. We were discussing the material because her wedding as well as my due date is in june. The sales lady kept referring to me as plus sized. And then tild my friend that not in a million years would she let a fat pregnant girl in her wedding. Im not a big girl. Im adverage and i just barely have a bump. Yet she fat shamed me the entire time i was there. Has this happened to anyone else? Someone purposely putting you down for being pregnant?
Had a women from church who us getting back surgery and breasts cancer surgery in same week next week shame me over the weekend. She is only 100lbs, 56, and has a bent back. She has been trying to gain weight she says for upcoming back surgery. We had a breakfast pot luck and I had one little plate if egg dishes and one little plate of fruit....she got all big eyed and said that is more t Han she eats in a week. Have a feeling she has been anorexic and mean for many years and now, gas health issues
I dealt with David's Bridal last year for my wedding. Please r akw the time to call a corporate office as well. This individual should not be in a customer service position, especially in a bridal boutique. You may save another person from having to ender her wrath
My husband was extremly mad when i told him. He called the store manager and spoke with her telling her all the things the girl had said and she apologized and said she would take care of it. My husband said the way she talked she was going to fire the girl.

I'm going to be in a wedding at 8 months for a best friend and 2 weeks prior to childbirth based on due date for my cousin. Both of them have been wonderful and bout making sure I'm confortable and honestly I don't care how bad I look to others bc I'm there for my girls on their big days. That woman needs to be fired. She disgraced David's bridal and she honestly made herself luke moronic.

I'm sorry that happened to you. Incidentally, my friend was a bridesmaid at nine months pregnant, and in her dress, which was empire waist and highlighted her belly without making her look 'fat', she was beautiful. I'm sure you will be too.
Im so sorry she said that to her. Being like her are usually someone like her being that. Hateful has so many insecurities.
Thanks everyone. I felt the same way and i wanted to say something and in most circumstances i would have but i kept my mouth shut because i didnt want to ruin my friends day. Guess i just felt like it was suppose to be about her and not about me. Not only did it bother me because she was calling me fat but she was also making comments about how she hates kids and even referred to my baby as a "thing". My friend did stick up for me though as best as she could but it still bothers me thinking about it.
YEAH I would have SNAPPED! Wow how disrespectful was that! Omgoodness! I probably would have looked her up and down and completely went on a rampage about everything about how she looks from the top of her head down to the socks she was wearing. I would have told her how she is so insecure that she probably has to try to impress others to make herself feel like she matters more than she does, and then I would have gotten her fired!

How rude!!!! Not professional in the least bit... If I were your friend I'd change shops... Nothing good can come from ppl so tactless and mean. Forget about her!
Hell no. My reaction would have had the manager finding us another representative to assist us while she begged for her job.
