What gender are you having?

I'm a 33 year old FTM due mid-June. My husband and I just discovered today that we're expecting a BOY! Oh boy! We were kind of hoping for a girl, but we're really just thrilled that our little boy is healthy (blood test and NT scan is low risk for abnormalities).

However, I have to admit I wish I were more excited... Can any of you mothers of boys share what mothers can look forward to with a son? My husband's thinking of all the manly things he'll get to do with our son, but what do mothers have to look forward to experiencing with a son?

I have 2 boys and am kind of hoping this one will be too, don't find out until the middle of Jan though, my boys are the greatest, they bake with.me, we play games all the time, my take on it was I could avoid all the teenage angst that comes with a girl...lot, good luck and enjoy

So much to look forward to!!  Playing outside,  splashing in puddles, holding hands on walks, watching him at a year and a half make his dinosaurs growl, giving piggy  back rides, reading books together, and again being a mommy's  boy!  My list could go on and on about all of the amazing things about having a son.  I felt similar when I found out we were having having a boy.  I still don't feel like I am that great at playing cars or trucks, but no matter what you do he will just be happy you are doing it with him.

Congratulations! I have a 1 year old son and im expecting a boy in june. This time i was hoping for a girl. But with my first i knew he was a boy and was soo excited. Lil boys are so much fun!

Thanks, Serwaah. When do you find out the gender? Or are you keeping it as a surprise?

I went shopping for some cute little boy outfits this week and have been making the shift in my head to a son when I imagine motherhood. Warming up to the idea far more now and feeling excited for all the things we'll get to do with our son.

Boys are great they love there mommy's and will give you all the love you need ihave two boys and hoping for a girl this time.

Thanks for the response, Stacy. I hope we have a momma's boy who grows into a self-sufficient young man. One good thing is that we don't have to sponsor a wedding someday!

I have a 2 1/2 yr old little boy and me is such a mommy's boy I love it I find out what I'm having in 6 weeks for my second baby but I'll be ok either way boys are so sweet and he chooses me over everyone else n I love that!!
