30 Day Shred

Okay so I heard the 30 day shed really works with healthy eating.  I was thinking about ordering it and doing it.  Has anyone used it?  Will it effect my breastfeeding?  Does anyone want to do a "challenge" with me?  We can keep each other going throughout the 30 days????

I have been doing this video since I was 5-6 weeks post pardum. It was great for loosing the weight and getting back into shape. I would say level 2 is the hardest though. there are a couple of excercises in there that are just nuts. Anyway, good luck to you allthat are doing it. It is nice to know that if you don't have time to get a huge workout in that something similarly effective is out there. also, if you want to burn a few extra calories I would recommend working out in a sweatshirt. You have to make sure you are well hydrated so you don't overheat but it is nice to really get the heart going during the workouts. If anyone is looking to get the video quicker and save a few $$ on shipping, I think the video is standard issue at Target. Jillian has 2 other videos as well. I also workout to her cardio one. It is 45 minutes but when I have time it is a nice change up from the 30 day shred.

Jem - I think the wine is totally worth and extra few pounds. :)

Jem-

I would love to join a gym but we can't afford it right now.  DH has 3 furlow(sp) days now so we have to keep money a bit tight, boo.  Haha about the wine, you propb need to keep it I am sure you need a break, I know I do!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Jules -
I have not done the video in awhile. I decided to throw down and join a fancy gym - it is literally a resort without the rooms! Anyway - this is what I needed bc I can bring Hayden to the day care (sep room for infants) and get a REAL workout in. I am also doing classes. I have about 10 lbs to go to get to pre-preg weight -- and remember I gained like 60-65 lbs!! I'd like to loose more like 15-18 lbs and I think I can do it in a few months time. But it is hard work. I bet if I gave up drinking wine, I could do it quicker ;-)

Ok so I have totally slacked this week, I only did the video that once.  I am getting on it next week.  I started back to work this week, so I was a little out of sorts, I know excuses.  So I will keep you posted on my journey.

How are you girls doing?

When I first started doing the video I was super sore. I talked to my sis in law (she is training the be a personal trainer) about it, and she said to take a day off if you are sore. When you exercise you tear your muscles (that is the pain) then in your downtime they rebuild (that makes you more toned). If you keep exercising while you are sore then you don't give your muscles a chance to rebuild.

Anyway, Ovaz, the only problem I have is that, after 2 kids (and a 4th degree tear with my first), during the jumping parts I tend to have a little leakage.... gross. ;)

I tend to do the workout at 10 pm or later because I have to wait until the kids are sleeping and the husband is home.

I am FINALLY down to my goal weight... 135! Yes! I think that once I am done nursing and not wearing a 34 F I may lose another 5 lbs just from the milk!

Jules...

I TRY and do it everyday, but some days I feel like I don't have time.  (I know... 20 minutes is all it takes, right?)  I usually do it 4-5 times a week.  Yeah, I thought I was in shape as well until I met this video!!!  haha

I think the hardest part for me in Level one is when she has you do jumping jacks and then jump rope one right after the other.  That is sooo hard for me!

Justice...

The video is called Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred.  It's amazing :)  I bought mine on Amazon, but you can find the video in stores too.  The workout is only 20 minutes, which doesn't sound bad, but for me it feels like an hour workout.  I think it is pretty good :)

Guys! I have never heard of this... LOL maybe I should google it! Is it a video you do?? How does it work?

Its been REALLY hard for me to focus on weight loss and working out! Noah is a really tough customer LOL and He needs ALOT of attention (he is just a generally fussy baby) But he gets better and better and actually entertains himself more and more so I think I can try it out now

Ovaz-

Level three totally kicks my butt, but so does level one. Parts of each level are super hard for me while some parts are easy...I am sure it is the same with you!

This is going to be fun...

Jules-
I have been doing it for about 2 months now. I have lost about 8 lbs since I started it. It feel like it is a great starter workout- really good for toning. I do it daily (switching levels each day) then get on the treadmill for another half hour.

I would definitely love to join you both in a challenge!

Hey Jules!  I bought this DVD about a month ago.  Granted, I have only used it maybe 10 times, but it kicks my butt!!!  Highly recommend it.  I just started doing it again last Thursday and my goal is to do it 5-6 times a week for the rest of the month.  We are headed to Maui the second week of Sept. and I need to loose some of the extra love on my thighs :P  And, 10 more lbs!

Sooooo... I will do a "challenge" with you!  I think I bought mine on amazon for maybe $6 plus $2 for shipping.  It got to me 4 days after I ordered it too.
