First trip to ER!

OK - here is what happened. Hayden fell Wednesday a.m. and got an indent on her right eyebrow. it bruised immediately. That night she barely slept and cried so hard she actually threw up. i was up close to every hour to rock her back and at 3 am cleaning up throw up. she seemed to be her regular self, but I gave her Tylenol in case she had a headache. The next a.m. was normal, but she woke early from her nap so we went to the gym. I asked the kid center director about her bump and what she thought and she said i should check it out. I got her home and called my ped's office and the nurse said bc she vomited I should get her over to Children's memorial ER ASAP. I freaked! She was checked out and looks good but has an ear infection and will start antibiotics tonight. The ear ache was probably effecting her balance and that might be why she had so many falls on Wed. We have her on baby zpack and she is doing MUCH better.

thanks everyone for your kind words. Hayden has been back to normal for a few days now and I had a professional baby proofer come over today (the guy was a bit over the top - talking about affixing all our furniture to the walls!) but lesson learned - even a slight bump on the head - check it out w/ DR!

Irish - the ER doc said no need for CAT scan or anything b/c she passed her initial screen and she did not see any reason to expose her to radiation. She felt for skull fracture and swelling, which hayden did not have.

Oh no..poor baby girl! That is aweful. I am glad to hear everything is ok. I love the gown.;) When you brought her in did the docs do anything extensive ( scans, etc)?

Give her a big hug for me.

What a stressful night! I am so glad that little Hayden is ok. She does look really sweet in that gown though ;)

Poor Hayden! I freak out and call my doctor for EVERYTHING. You are such a trooper! :) We have already been to the ER- for non emergency things. (My bro is an ER doc so we go see him on occaision.) She never got a cute gown though!! I am glad she didn't have a concussion. Head injuries are so scary!!!

What a scare that would be! I do think that I would've taken her when she was crying so much during the night, but I also live 2 blocks from the hospital and in Canada where its free. Glad she's ok
