We got Brock a kitchen, my sister is getting him a workbench, and my mom got him a sit -n- spin. We also got him lots of tractors. Games were on sale at Toys 'R Us...Memory, Candyland, Chutes and Ladders...don't know if he's ready, but they were $1 after rebate! He got a Pillow Pet for Halloween! He is getting this 4 in 1 scooter V-Tech toy from Grandma, because he always tries to ride the neighbors' real scooters! That's about it for my ideas!
It was really hard to think of inventive Christmas ideas this year as we already have everything from when Micah was little. We have the Potterybarn kids red retro kitchen set, but it could use some more food additions. I just googled "Top toys for toddlers," reviewed the lists, and took it from there
Here is what we bought Mark:
1. Twilight Turtle Night Stars constellation lamp- it is supposed to be awesome
2. More items for our Thomas wooden railway
3. A Bilibo (Supposed to be AWESOME)
4. Books
5. A Build a Bear Elmo
6. A few Sprig eco vehicles. These are really cool as they are completely powered by movement. I LOVE them.
WHITNEY: What is a Bilbo? Sounds fancy ;)
It's this toy that is supposed to be the modern day cardboard box. Kids are supposed to LOVE it. It gets really great reviews on Amazon. Found mine on ebay for $25 plus free shipping. Here is a link:

Glad we started this chain. I really need some ideas this year. I feel that Jack doesn't like anything in particular. He barely plays with the toys he has. All he wants to do is play with my phone, a remote or get into drawers. I think I am going to do a big purge (ie put lots of them away) of his toys before Chirstmas. I would love to get him a work bench of sorts or more puzzles/books, but I am afraid they will be a waste of money. He never sits a just plays with a toy. I guess he hasn't reached to "occupy yourself" stage at all yet. Any thoughts on how to get him to start playing with his toys with a purpose?...or is this way too soon still?
Right now I am thinking of buying a raw wood toy chest so I can paint it for his room...that's about all I have in my thought box right now.
BTW - The Twilight Turtle is GREAT! I turn it on for him every night. He even likes to bring it to bed with him sometimes. I have also seen the same thing in a ladybug too.
So, I think I am sold on the Twilight Ladybug! That is very cool... sending it to my parents as a gift idea :)
