I checked with my doc. He said nothing to worry about the weight gain in the first trimester. On the contrary gaining too much can cause a problem. So am releived. Thanks for all your inputs

Nice to know that I am not alone. I guess then it is not to worry yet. I will definitely check with doc and see what he has to say. I have heard from a friend that you really gain weight later in second trimester and a lot in the final trimester.

I am with you G_S, showing, but not gaining weight.  Weird.  Last Friday I went for my 18 week and gained a whopping 1/2 pound--for a total of 4 pounds.  My doctor doesn't seem worried and the baby is doing just fine.

My SIL actually lost weight throughout most of her pregnancy...she was a tad overweight before she got pregnant not much though and her dr said it was ok. Don't stress out too much...I know it is hard to compare yourself with everyone else on here and not find something to worry about! As long as your uterus is growing and your baby is too then everything else doesn't really matter as much.

I am also 16 weeks today, and went to the dc and have only gained about 3 lbs.  My dc didnt seem worried at all.  So i am not going to worry.  My stomache is growning and the baby seems fine.  I am sure you will be happy not to gain much yet when we start the lb a week thing.

I am 17 weeks and have lost 7lbs and gained only 1lbs back and my Dr is not worried. As long as you are growing (your uterus) is what really matters, now i am trying to start gaining weight to keep up with the 1lbs a week.
Don't worry about it, every single pregnancy on this earth is different from the next
