Good News!

Hey ladies,

Well on a random thought I went ahead and took the last hpt in the box and it came out positive! WooHoo!!! I am not sure why I took the test. I was going to wait till the weekend when AF is due but I just had this nagging urge. The line is very faint but it is definitely there. I am going to wait a while before telling DH. I want to think of some creative way to tell him. This is going to be our last pregnancy (assuming it sticks) so I want to make it special. When I found out I was pregnant with Jack I presented him with this shirt that says "#1 dad" (We both use to watch Seinfeld a lot and it it a familiar shirt in one episode, so I ordered it months in advanced and kept it aside for that very situation. He even wore it in the hospital). Anyway, am hoping to tell him in some fun way. It doesn't need to be over the top or anything just anything better than "..hey btw..I'm pregnant".

Any good ideas?

Also, for those fb friends mums the word for now...probably even for a long while. Will probably wait to obligatory 12 weeks before posting it to the world at large.

Hooray! yeah! so happy for you. I love how you surprised him - if we get pregnant I will just dress hayden in a shirt that says "big sister"....I am in my 2 week wait period but we have not had lunch the past few tries. Don't count me out yet! LOL.

Thanks for all the ideas ladies! I went ahead and did it yesterday. I couldn't wait. I was thinking about telling him on father's day but I can't keep a secret that long. ;)

I wrote him a note and had Jack give it to him. It said "I'm going to be a big brother". It was cute. So I guess it is just a witaing game again till my 8 week u/s. I think I'll call the doc on Tuesday to make the appointment.

Great idea...sold! I looked high and low for this 12 month onsie I had left over so I could write on it but I can't find it (and I looked for his newborn stuff and it is way in the back of a closet. I am afraid if I brought any of that stuff out the whole closet would bury me) . So instead I am going to write a note and have Jack give it to him sometime this evening. I think it will say "Big Brother - Feb 2011". As for Monday's bbq I might just do that. I have a small group of girls that would zone in on me immediately if I declined a drink. I'll just grab a beer and walk around with it and dump it out occasionally...good thinking. I have one more hurdle...Friday night. I am getting to gether with the same group of girls for a Sex and the City movie and a drink beforehand. I guess I could tell them the good news and tell them not to say anything on Monday. Any way around ordering a drink at dinner? With it being the SATC movie we were all going to order cosmos.

Irish-
Just hold a drink and pretend to take sips throughout the night. Maybe even dump some on the grass when no one is looking....

I have an idea. Get a onsie for Jack and have it screen printed with the phrase, "Guess who's having a baby" or something. Then put it one him and cover it up with a shirt. Tell your husband that he needs to get Jack ready for bed or something and see if he notices what the onsie says.

Thanks ladies! I do have some of Jack's old stuff....I might do something along that line. Maybe I can pretend to "fold" the newborn stuff when DH gets home one day and of course he will ask what I am doing and I will go from there.

I kind of wished I hadn't cheked it today. With Memorial day coming I know if I don't drink at the bbq people will wonder what's up. I guess the cat will jump out of the bag quite a bit earlier than I hope.

Alright!!!  That is wonderful news :)  I am so happy for everyone that has been trying and has been able to conceive.  And, I am the worst with coming up with creative ideas... hence I "stole" Kele's photo idea!

Yay! Congrats! That is wonderful. I didn't get the chance either time to surprise Chris so I have no fun ideas...wait...do you have one of Jack's old newborn outfits left? If so you could ask DH if he can remember how to hold a baby that small or something along those lines.
