Wow.... that is so painful to hear. We know so many people that are upside down on their mortgages, and are thankful that we bought after the market fell.
How hard for you, too, to have to tell people this kind of heart breaking news.
Wow! Your husband is a nerd! haha... that is great though.
Oh, I emailed the web company just now. I know nothing about this stuff, yet I know more than my husband! Scary! haha
Tucson was definitely not as hard hit as PHX... we didn't have an over abundance of homes built during the peak like the PHX area, thus we just don't have the surplus of foreclosures. But, we definitely have our share of foreclosures!
It is really upsetting... I got a call from a 79 year old woman last night who needs to sell because she has no savings acct. and she needs the $ from her house for a major operation.. Sad part is her house is worth about $50k less than what she bought it for and she doesn't have the $ to make up for the difference in price. So what is she left with? A short-sale and if that doesn't sell, then she will foreclose. At 79 years old that is the last thing that she should be worrying about, ya know?
LOL... Tyler is a total nerd, and so are all of his friends :) They all love to build things, some of the items I would never dream of (like the self drawing white board they built using old printer parts). We don't have cable because last year Ty built a media computer from scratch. So our TV is just a large computer screen and we watch all our media via the computer. I think that, currently, we have like 6 terabytes worth of movies and tv shows.Oh boy I could go on and on :)
Wow, I can only imagine the market where you are right now. We lived in Phoenix a while ago and I remember almost every other house had been forclosed on. I am glad you are doing well in that market!
haha!!! i totally knew what you meant :) don't worry... i understood the vibe you were giving through computer language :)
we are realtors... so we don't "own" our own business... rather we are self employed and pay to use a brokerages name. yeah, i am sure you already knew that though! lol...
i appreciate the site you gave me... i will take a look at it and contact them. any advice is appreciated! our business has really taken off in the down market (probably because part time realtors and others who just couldn't make it, have stopped paying renewing their licenses). but, we are looking to further our internet traffic... which is how we get many of our buyers and sellers already, but we are wanting to put our faces on the "front page" so to speak. i just didn't know how to go about it. so thanks!
if you don't mind me asking, what does your husband do that makes him a "nerd"? lol
BTW-
What kind of business do you own?
The guy we use is local. I found this website for you:
http://tucsonseosolutions.com/search-engine-optimization
BTW- When I say "nerd" I am saying it with the upmost love and respect as my husband is a major one :)
we do have a website, although the brokerage we are with includes it in what we pay them yearly. so, it isn't an independent website... we really need to get our own. i was going to use adwords through google and pay google. i need to find a good "nerd" to do this junk for me! maybe someone at the business school down at the u of a would be helpful :) how did your husband find someone or maybe you could give me that person's number. thanks whitney :)
Ovaz-
This is probably a stupid question, but do you guys have a website? When my husband hired a company to build his he also paid them (and does so monthly) for search engine optimization. Basically the nerds manipulate the algorithms for google etc and make your website appear in the top results for Google and other engines. The money has been totally worth it. I know we get several phone calls a day just from that. Anyway- something to think about.
Jem... thank you! I will check that link out and see if i can decifer anything. For some reason I think I will be doing a lot of trial and error... which needless to say, takes time... which is limited with a almost 14 mo. old. Hummmph... so yeah, this may be one of those "after the kids go to bed" ordeal. Why I started this, I have no idea. But, now I feel like I need to finish it! haha
Ok so I want to be facebook friends!!! I am already friends with one other mama on here. I would just message you my name but I am so hidden that you can't type in my name and find me! :) So....if you aren't worried that I am some freaky stalker, message me your name and I will add you! I never put up pictures on this thing because I can't edit them.
p.s. I wonder if this response will give me 4 stars like you - LOL! Now can you help me on how to drop Hayden's before bed bottle? hehe
hi FB friend...
OK so when I used to work in the professional world pre-Hayden, this is the industry I worked in. FBML is the facebook way of saying HTML, it is basically using developer code to personalize pages. I have not done this myself, but FB basically opened up their technology code to let businesses copy their language and personalize it for your own business. Personally, I think it is still geared more towards people that know how to build web pages vs the average Joe like myself, but I just looked up a site that might help break it down for you: http://www.hyperarts.com/blog/tutorial-facebook-pages-with-static-fbml-application/
