Nervous after 31 week Appt.

So, this past Tuesday evening around 9:30pm I all of a sudden began having really intense and painful cramps in my lower back and lower uterus.  They came on really suddenly and were fairly painful... to the point I was using my newly acquired "heee heee heee whooo" breathing techniques.  My husband thought I was exaggerating the intensity, until I started literally shaking from them.  So, he helped massage my back and tried to help me relax.  Eventually I began having contractions with the cramps that were all over my abdomen.  So, I thought, "Ok... maybe these are really bad braxton hicks".  The cramps were very similar to the cramps that I had when I went through our 2nd miscarriage.  I thought, maybe I am dehydrated... so I began chugging water hoping that it would make them stop.  Anyway, I ended up sleeping in the guest room that night because I had to get up and walk around.

We had our 31 week check up yesterday and explained what had happened to my doctor, who was less than pleased that I hadn't called.  She was concerned that these were pre-term labor contractions and ran some test (terrible... but I have no idea what it was called) that would indicate if I am going to go into labor over the next 2 weeks.  Then, she did an exam to see where my certix was at and she said, "Well, you are progressing nicely."  Not too sure what she meant by that, but I am assuming it is nothing bad otherwise she would have given me some sort of warning.  Anyways, I just wanted to keep you all posted on what is happening in our pregnancy.  I am sure that I am fine, but am still a little nervous because I have continued to have minor episodes of the cramping and contractions.  We should be finding out the result of the test on Monday... I will keep you posted in the Monday updates :)

Thanks... yeah, its funny because at the beginning of the pregnancy I was suuuper paranoid due to our past.  So, you would have thought that I would have called the doc, right?  Sometimes I feel like I am bugging the heck out of them, so this time I was thinking, "Okay... any second this is going to stop."  Which... they did, but after 5 hours.  Anyway, yeah... all is well on the home front now :)  I am anxiously awaiting the call on Monday!

Ovaz! I am so sorry to hear about this stress on you. But - you are doing all the right things by seeing your DR and getting the tests. Another thing for you to push for is an u/s - to have them check fluid levels. And in the mean time - try to take it as easy as possible, feel up, in BED! If it any time you worry - call the DR or go to the ER. It may be a wasted trip - but my feeling is that at least you will have peace of mind.

I am not sure I have had braxton hicks - but people that have say it feels like period like cramps.

Hang in there - sending good thoughts your way!

Ah! That is some scary stuff. :( I would have definitely gone to labor and delivery or at least called my doc. I hope it isn't anything serious though...braxton hicks hopefully. Definitely keep us updated.
