Sleeping Position

I've heard rumours from other pregnant mummies that when sleeping you should lye on your left side. I can't seem to get comfortable sleeping like this and was wondering if anyone else has heard this or knows why ?

My doctor said to sleep how I'm comfortable. My left side pinches my ribs. He also said there is no proof that laying on your back harms the baby. If I need to be on my back I normally tuck a pillow behind me so I'm not flat and it's also to avoid heartburn

I sleep on both left and right side.. I fall asleep on my right side & turn over in my sleep to my left side.. It all depends on how I can get comfy x

It's ok if you can't sleep on your left. It does increase blood flow which has nutrients and oxygen for you baby but it's not a big deal if you don't like doing it. They do suggest though that you try not to sleep on your back cause of the pressure on your spinal cord.

I have the same issue. But a body pillow, it makes all the difference.

They say that's the best way to sleep.  Left side that is..  Sleeping on your back as baby grows and gets bigger can cut blood flow  so you should avoid  that way...  For me I have found I can only sleep on my tummy/side I bought a Snoogle it's a pregnancy body pillow ****  one leg up and bam I am comfy but everyone is different  and such good luck!
