what would you do! ?

OK ladies, I'm in a huge dilemma. My lab who was my husband's first, has been aggressive towards me at times from us first dating. He's really a sweetheart, but he can get so aggressive and mean, even go to bite me sometimes, I can't take it anymore. I love the pup so much, but i don't want to get bit or have him bite anyone else or the baby, as he's aggressive towards others too at times. Do you think we should find a new home for him bc not sure I want it to get to the point where I , baby, or someone else gets bit!

I'm a dog lover myself and can understand your problem. If I were you I would look into hiring a dog trainer to come to your home to determine if your dogs behavior can be adjusted.

If a dog is biting, you can't risk it. Baby's skin is so sensitive and unfortunately, its not likely that he'll change by the time you have the baby unless you hire someone to train him right now.

You might have to. I have a little dog who has always tried to be alpha. She snipped at my daughter when we first brought her home. We kenneled her when she seemed to get overwhelmed. They sometimes play together now that my daughter is 2, but I'll be extra careful with her around this baby when he comes. My friend had an aggressive large dog that was not good around kids and they got rid of him before their first was born. It's just not worth the risk with certain dogs.
