Scan shows gestational sac but nothing else

help! I was 5 weeks pregnant when I hd an early scan. There was nothing to show accept a gestational sac and she showed me the screen and seemed unconcerned and rebooked me for two weeks later however when I left I realised the paper work said no sign of yolk sac or foetal heartbeat :( im freaking out now as I know this doesn't sound normal. Has anyone has a similar situation? Not sure I can stand waiting another ten days to find out its driving me crazy with worry. First pregnancy so not sure if this is me being over cautious or I have a right to be concerned any suggestions?

Couldn't wait any longer so attended the drop in clinic and had a scan this morning....my little blob was there heart beating away...so relieved and now my excitement can start. Thanks for all your messages

Yes they are dating me around 2 weeks behind what I thought too so I'm trying not to panic but it's been a stresful 2 weeks waiting. Scan on wed so my fingers are crossed. Thanks for your messages. It's way to early I agree but I kind of got carried away in it all being my first pregnancy so was excited to think I would see the baby so soon learnt mistake :/

I had the same thing happen. Don't worry until you need to (yes, that's super hard to do!) With both of my babies the due date calculated from my last period was two whole weeks early. So, there was lots of panicking because my calculated due date said that I was 7 weeks pregnant, but in reality I was only 5 weeks pregnant. Looking at the numbers and scan of a 5 week pregnancy that should be 7 weeks along looks.like there's something wrong and things aren't progressing. My doc gave me the option of scheduling a d&c (which caused me further panic) or waiting. I scheduled the d&c just to get it over. When I went in for pre-op tests my numbers had risen a little, so it was canceled. Two weeks later there was a heartbeat and now I have a 2to spunky little boy!

That's normal at 5 weeks.  You can usually see more at 6 weeks. Try not to worry. I had similar and was all fine :)
