The publication to the study is listed above... Ultrasounds are not associated with a higher risk of autism.

VesselofGod. Due to incorrect dates and then wanting to confirm gender before hubby went off to Afghan so we could decide on a name I had 4 scans with my first, who does not have Autism. I had gestational diabetes with my 2nd so needed regular checks to make sure she was OK and had numerous scans, also does not have autism. Be careful which sites the statistics come from. Eating crisps and wearing nail varnish can also cause cancer but are unlikely to. Risk vs liklihood.

Always remember you have a Choice
In life!  We all  Have to make many important ones everday! My pregnancy is considered high risk
Due to age. I can still say no!
I will still limit ultrasounds !
I know someone that did get many throughout pregnancy and child now has autism! Do the research they have done studies, they are linked! There are many medical procedures that are performed, that have many risks, and some ending in harm! They are practicing! I was saying be careful do the research and be informed! Before my friend told me ,and I researched it I had also thought they were harmless.
The Trans vaginal are more dangerous than the Trans abdominal due to proximity to the baby. Also a study done testing the sound level of ultrasound noise in womb was compared to a subway train coming into a station. We women can only make the best decisions when they are informed decisions.

In your last sentence you said they wouldn't perform if could cause damage. Think about it they do amniocentesis which could very likely cause you to miscarry! That is damage in my book!
Many people refuse amniocentesis to check for probable abnormalities and give birth to healthy babies!

VesselofGod as much as it's ok to warn people of risks, there's no need to put any extra worry on a parent as pregnancy is worrying enough. Some people have no choice weather to have extra ultrasound scans especially in a high risk pregnancy and if they were linked to any sort of medical problems or cause any damage to the unborn child they wouldn't be performed.

I say for for it I found out I'm having a little girl at 15+6 weeks xx

Be careful!
Do some research!
Excessive ultrasounds linked to autisim! I am going to wait till 20 weeks they will do a level 2 and check all the organs etc.
And find out sex then when they can tell easier and for sure.
I wouldn't do any extra. ..risk not worth it to me! Even if we don't find out it's more important that baby is safe!
