New here, so scared, so many questions

Hello everyone, I hope you are all feeling and doing well.  I am sorry to say that I am most definitely not feeling well which is what led me to find this site on the internet.  I am: a terribly overweight (morbidly obese), cancer survivor, completely sleepless, heart-pounding constantly, diabetic woman who is, by her doctor's best approximation, five weeks along as of yesterday.  There is so much information out there, I don't know where to start and I'm so afraid I just want to........start crying and never stop........can someone please please take a couple of minutes and point me in a general direction online for help?

How far along were you when you found out you were pregnant. Lots of people do plenty wrong before they find out. Take comfort in that they baby is not connected to you in the early weeks (up to 6 weeks or so), and therefore the sleeping pills and other things will not be getting through. Lots of women have drinking binges before they find out, and freak out, and what they are told is exactly that. A friend of mine didn't find out she was pregnant until 10 weeks (or was ignoring it), and was drinking 3 of those energy drinks a day!! And she has a healthy 10 month old now. Not saying that it is good, but what you have done before you found out won't affect the baby, I'm sure of it.
What have you done to try and lose weight? Did you want the surgery? It should be up to you, and if you can prove you have tried to lose the weight by other means and have been unsuccessful then the doctors should look at something like stomach banding.

my doctors have covered the range of advice regarding my weight, from YOU HAVE TO LOSE WEIGHT OR YOU ARE GOING TO DIE, but we won't entertain the idea of weight loss surgery with you, because you're not that overweight.  Huh?  to, you know the risks, lose weight or stay fat, it's up to you.  so it's like, really hands on or really hands off, depending on the doctor, and being a cancer patient and then survivor, believe me, I have a lot of doctors!  we haven't been able to get in with an ob yet, but the endocrinologist we saw didn't say anything.  of all the issues this baby faces, I find it impossible to relax.

I'm losing my mind.

we are here.  what are some of your questions/ concerns?
It is normal to feel scared and weeps ( i hope because I do too) howver, I am concerned that you may be stressing too much.  Be sure to talk to your doctor about how you feel.

Does your doctor have concerns about your weight and diabetes while being pregnant?

please give us a little more info so we can help.

Hi, welcome! Congrats on your pregnancy. My advice is - don't google anything!! It is so easy to google things that can go wrong etc and horrible information comes up that just makes it worse for you and doesn't help a bit. I made that mistake with my second pregnancy because I had miscarried my first - and it made me so stressed and scared of the worst things that could happen. I convinced myself that they baby had died many times during my first trimester! She is now a healthy 8-month old! Google has scarred me for life - I always think the worse because of all the negative information I have read. So don't do it! Just take everyday as it comes and call your doctor if you are worried. Congrats!!

I'd like to welcome you as well.  There are several women on here (me included) that are pregnat for the first time, and scared as well, even though I"m so excited!  I've been a member of this site for over a year now, as I was ttc for awhile, and I really dont' think I would have made it through except for this site keeping me sane.  We're all here for you!

Welcome to the group :)

I know things may seem overwhelming and scary right now, but I want you to know that the women here will lend an ear, and try to be supportive as much as possible. Feel free to ask your questions, and vent all you want. I'm sure we will help in whatever way we can...whether it be to just listen, offer advice and support, or help you find answers to your questions.

Congrats on your pregnancy and I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months :)
