Group B

Anyone else not have Group B Strep in their previous pregnancies and then get a positive test for it during one?

Ive never had a positive result for Group B before with my other pregnancies but I do with this one. My Dr said its common hence why they test for it all the time but Im just curious.

Its a form of strep bacteria that we naturally have in our digestive track and is harmless to us but if present in the birth canal at the time of birth can be harmful to baby. If positive they will give you IV antibiotics during labor. They test for it by swabbing your vagina and rectum.
