water birth

anybody else considered of having water birth?or have any of you had water birth previously or know of anyone who has?i'm seriously thinking about delivering my baby in a water pool cuz i'm so damn scared of labour pain, and i have heard that water birth is much less painful and very calming for mum and baby, also the baby comes out easier apparently..thought i'd see what everyone else's views are on here about water birth..the only thing that puts me of a little is baby sliding straight out into the water though,i'v heard its fine and safe for the baby, but i think seeing that would freak me out a little, thats the only bad point,i havnt heard any other disadvantages about it,just good things...

I REALLY wanted a water birth but my insurance doesn't cover it and i don't have $3000 to pay for it myself. But if you have the option, I've heard its amazing! I hope to labor in the bath tub at the hospital for as long as possible though to help with pain.
