I really don't want to be induced but my Dr had me schedule an induction date 4 days after my due date because I'm measuring 3 weeks ahead and want to be on the safe side.
Honestly i have never even.heard of primrose oil. Have to check that out. I just always see people saying to walk a lot, bounce on a ball, eat spicy foods, etc.. but i dont think all of that is neccesary. I mean i just continue to do what i always do. My normal routine.
Have any of you that aren't dilating looked into evening primrose oil? I've been reading a lot about it and it appears to be successful in softening the cervix and causing dilation. Just a thought to avoid induction with the dreaded pitocin. I was induced with my first and my second was on his own, major difference. I felt like I was going to die when I was induced, I didn't have pain meds either, but with my son, everything started on its own, still no medicine, it wasn't so bad.
I'm getting induced Sunday but I didn't choose to. My doctor chose for me because I'm due tomorrow and he doesn't want me to go too overdue.
With my first my doctor kinda chose induction for me. But I had a great experience. This time around if offered I'll take it. Hopefully my baby will come on his own before then though
My first was induced and I didn't have a problem. So I'm doing again a few days after my due date.
I originally chose not to. But after much research, finding out my family history with deliveries, and having a night in the hospital of 24+ hrs of strong contractions 2-4 mins I'm considering a change. It's common in my family for the women to need pitocin for that extra "help" for the body to dilate. I'm 38wks 5days and as of last checked on Tuesday after all those contractions I was still totally closed. So I'm thinking my body is following suit. Going to the Dr this morning to check again and talk about inductions
I'm 38 weeks as well. :) I'm hanging out for bub to show up. Induction can really make things harder and also increase chances of further intervention. For some ladies it is necessary for health reasons. That's different. Ladies start talking about induction at 36 weeks and beyond. But normal length is up to 42 weeks.
Anyway that's how I feel. There is my rant lol. My first was two weeks over. I was so glad that I waited for her. I had a natural drug free
experience.
It is hard. I am so eager to hold our next bub..
Goodluck with whatever decision you make :-)
