Starting to Thin and soften already...AHHHH

Hi Girls,   Well, went to the doc. today and she checked me as I've been having a LOT of contractions which I had just written off to this being my 3rd baby but she said my cervix is closed but is starting to soften and thin out.  Not a good sign at 25 weeks.  This baby needs to cook a little longer...She did the new test where they swab you and check for fetal protein and if it comes back neg. you won't deliver in the next 2 weeks. She said if it comes back positive, it's not a guarantee you will deliver but it's something you need to watch. I'm freaking out a little. She told me to take it easy but didn't put me on bed rest thank goodness.  Hopefully it comes back neg. She also said she could see swelling and bulging which meant he was head down putting pressure down there already.  Little stinker.  He needs to hang out a little higher.  Hope you all are doing well.  Anyone else dealing with this?

I'm sorry your having so many contractions!!  I had a ton of bh contractions with my 1st dd.  They did the fetal fibronectin (sp?) test on me and it came back positive so they put me on bedrest until it was safe for me to deliver.  I delievered at 37 weeks.  Hope yours comes back neg and your able to take it easy!  :o)

Unfortunately due to my last pregnancy, I'm on the weekly ultrasound route...UGH...but an ultrasound won't check to see if you are dialated or effaced.  I'm praying that this baby cooks awhile longer.  I'm 25 weeks and they are inducing me Nov. 24 which is in 14 weeks (if I make it that long!) since my 3 1/2 year old has delays and we have no family in town so I need a little help when I go in.  I'm praying I make it until then so it all works out with help for my little guy.  Otherwise, I'm not sure what we'll do. My hubby just won't be able to be at the hospital as not many know how to tube feed, use the nebulizer, etc.  Hopefully you have not progressed anymore either!   Good luck!

I'm calling today to get the test results back. I had preterm labor with my son and had to be hospitalized and on magnesium sulfate at 32 weeks and I still hadn't thinned or softened so this makes me nervous.  I'm worried they are going to say bed rest if the test comes back positive.  AHHH....  I've had braxtonhicks a TON.  We walked around the block last night and I had 6 contractions in those about 9 minutes.  They stop when I get home and sit down but man...I didn't have this with my other two and I'm not overweight.  I'm 25 weeks and weighed 143 yesterday  at the doc. so it's not like I'm carrying a bunch of weight around.  Hopefully all will be fine today!
