I have several 18 to be exact my tattoo artist want work on me pregnant or breastfeeding..he says anyone can get infections via tattoos and he dont want to risk a unborn child.. So he made me wait until i was done breastfeeding 4 years ago. I currently have a sleeve half done because i now have to wait until i give birth and im done breastfeeding.. But its cool

Yeah definitely wait. Not worth the risk of hurting your unborn baby and yourself.

I dated a a tattoo artist for a a few years,  he still tattoos me,  but not right now.  No tattoos while pregnant for all of those reasons that have been mentioned by others.

I'm waiting after the birth od my baby...there is a risk od infection, the stress, and the chemicals from the ink go to the baby with your blood, and for example red ink has quite high concentration od mercury...it's not worth the risk for me...I love tattoos, but my baby is the first for me

Any artist that takes their work seriously will not tattoo a visibly pregnant woman. I help out in a shop, plan on getting an apprenticeship. I am 25 weeks and asked my artist what she thought about getting tattooed while pregnant and she just shook her head. It is against any morally sound artist's views because of infection, stress, and putting foreign materials into your body with all the added hormones because anything unexpected could happen. Yes, you could end up all right but is it worth the risk when you could do it later?

As long as you trust the place and artist go for it get a new tattoo I've had two done since being pregnant and had no problems,  the big risks r unclean tattoo parlours I have my own artist with a very clean place, just watch ur pain level while getting your tattoo take breaks if u need to!! Hope this helps!!

I would wait until after your baby is born because tatoos can get infected and I wouldn't want to risk it.
