me and my BF are due in 3 weeks with our first baby and i tried to get him to have sex the other night to help move things along, and he said no!!! it has been like 2 months since we had sex cuz i haven't felt like it, and he has never said no in like 5.5 years!!  i thought it was kinda cute cuz i think he is just nervous that our son will be here very soon!! anyone else feeling nervous about the birth of first child??  i do not get full pay during maturnity leave unless i work at job for one year, it will be 1 year on 10/6, BF said thats why he didn't want to, he doesn't want me to pop until after the 6th!!

Well, this is really TMI but I'm going to share it because we're all adults. When I was dilated in previous pregnancies and each of my daughters' heads were engaged, my husband could feel their heads during sex. It CREEPED HIM OUT. So perhaps that's why sex is a no go?

Sex is good for helping you go into labor. And definitely play the, "It's going to be a LONG time before we have sex after baby comes so let's get some in now" card.

dh couldnt have cared less what was going on in there, nothing was going to keep him from that! haha.  from what I understand though is that sex works well once you begin labor to move it quicker...which for me I think it did.  we decided to have sex at 11pm once I was in labor because we knew it would be the last total unprotected time for a long time and ds was born.  I ended up going from 0-10 in about 2 hrs.  Now maybe it was just my body or maybe it was the sperm breaking down the cervix...who knows.  but I agree with your dh,...hold it in until the 6th...then go crazy!!!
