Oh and it is normal to have baby's due date be off by a week, sometimes even 2 (like my youngest daughter's due date was pushed later by 2 weeks!). More than that is cause for concern, but otherwise sounds like your little one is just perfect.
Implantation occurs 7-12 days after ovulation. Also, if your cycle lengths are different than that of your friends then you'd obviously ovulate at different times as well. I'd trust the sonogram- they're accurate early on (not so much later as babies will begin to grow at their own rates).
Due dates and conception dates are all estimations and they can only truly base your due date on your baby's measurements. Hope that helps!
I wish I could help with this one. Due date are so puzzling. If we could look inside our body and see the exact night and time that the egg and sperm met then we would know more. Wouldn't it be nice if it was like Look Who's Talking? If you doctor said you shouldn't worry then I wouldn't.
You could have ovulated later than you thought that month and that could be throwing everything off. When I went for mine, my due date was Oct. 9 but it got moved to Sept. 30 instead! I think I just have a big baby (my son was big as well)...because nothing adds up with trying to look back to see when I ovulated. So I think in your case, you just ovulated later than you thought, which is very likely! Most early u/s are very accurate. After the 1st trimester, it's not as accurate anymore. Hope that helps you bit. I'm sure you are bummed that they moved it back! That kinda stinks! Just remember, a due date is an estimated guess of when baby will arrive, not a definite. Babies grow at different rates, like my son, he was 2 weeks early but over 8lbs. As for your friends, they probably ovulated right around the normal range on day 12-14.
