Due date oct. 5, 2010

My name is ashley, i am 18 years of age and 6 weeks pregnant. I know when  most adults will read that they will think wow, she's that young? But no worries. I have two college degrees, a job, and my boyfriend and i are about to get our own house (and a family car). It would seem like i have everything under control, but i don't. Upon finding out that i am pregnant i have become terribly afraid. Of everything. It's like the worst of every situation is stuck in my head. My doctor says that i have a well supported uterus and that everything in my body is fine, but yet i still worry about having a miscarriage. Also i'm afraid because i haven't really had any morning sickness. I have been nausues in the mornings and during the day but never have i thrown up, why? I'm cold all the time too, i thought being pregnant was supposed to make you hot more so than cold? Whenever my boyfriend and i have sex, he doesn't pull out. this scares me too. Will it hurt the baby? What positions are safe? I have started to gain a bit of weight though and my cloths do not exactly fit the way they once did. Also, i get butterflies all the time in my stomach. Is this a bad thing? Coming up this thursday is my six week sonogram. What should i see? I'm nervous and have a lot of question. Maybe you all can help. thanks!

Ashley Morgan.

I'd try not to worry too much, many women don't "feel" pregnant till later.  I JUST started getting hot flashes, and if I'm just sitting I don't normally get too hot.  The being hot is more so later when you have a big heater in your belly.

It will not hurt the baby to have sex.

Since I've had a child already I just have to mention to try and keep an eye on your weight and try not to gain too much.  I gained 30-40 lb and didn't loose ANY OF IT.

At 6 weeks you'll see a little bean, you won't see much.  And at 6 weeks you might see a heartbeat.

Just try to relax and enjoy it!

Hey I know what you mean I'm 5 weeks and 6 days. I'm 22 and this is my first baby. I'm just as scared as you are about most of the same things you listed above. It's TERRIFYING everyday thinking about what all the symptoms or lack of symptoms might mean. It has helped me to talk to my friends who have had children and all of them have varied greatly on their symptoms so I try not to compare my symptoms to the symptoms that others have or had because every woman and every pregnancy is unique. Good luck!

Some girls don't experience any morning sickness at all... some have nausea and never throw up, and some can't stop throwing up. You should just consider yourself lucky your not the last one!! Ha ha! That's not fun! Some women get constipated, some become more regular. Some have back pain, some don't. It all depends on the girl and the pregnancy. So, you shouldn't worry. If your doc said you look healthy, chances are you're going to have a healthy 9 months!! So stop worrying, you're young, and young girls were made to have babies.
As for sex, unless your doctor instructed you not to, or you're spotting or cramping really bad then go ahead and have sex and it doesn't matter which way!
