pumping

Is anyone else pumping and really getting tired of it? After the hospital made him have a bottle he would never take the breast so I have to pump. I am really getting tired of it. I just feel guilty if he has to have formula all the time (he gets it 2-3 times a day) plus pumping is free. I just find it so hard to take 30 minutes every 3 hours to pump. By the time I'm done both my boys are upset and I have to calm them both down. I just don't know what to do. I want him to have breast milk but I just want to quit!

Yeah, I plan to pump in class, it'll be mostly females but there will be some guys possibly.  The hands free system I have just makes my boobs look huge so other than that it looks normal.

For a hands free bra, if you have an old bra that fits (or go buy a cheap one) you can save a little money by cutting your own holes in it (many who have tole me that cutting a small slit works best so everything fits snugly.

Meant to say that sometimes I look at pictures of my little girl to help me.

I'm still pumping twice at work and once in the morning. I switched to nursing at night. I still hate getting up and going at work. I heard about the hands free bra but I dont have one, thought about getting one. So are you going to pumping in class with it? Good Luck!

Just wondering if any of you are still doing so and struggling to find ways to make it work?

I'm finding it's exhausting to pump and I just get lazy with it, but with an over supply it's not too hard for me to prolong when I pump.  And I'm worried how to handle it in school starting the end of this month, 8 hours with a one hour break and a few short breaks isn't enough to pump.  SO....Someone on Yahoo told me about the Freemie system, I got mine and have been giving it a try.  I've only used it twice but tonight I'll be using it while doing chores around the house hands free.  I think if you can try to go hands free it might make it a little easier on you.

sqw2008, if you still want to breastfeed, keep trying.  when I had that issue with my son it took me about a month to get him back on the boob, and I made it happen only at night.  Maybe try when he's groggy before bed (or for the middle of the night feedings).

I actually have been trying to breastfeed. The only problem is when I let down I literally spray milk.... Jacob doesn't like that one bit!

The hospital made me give him a bottle because he was losing top much weight and I actually couldn't leave until he had a bottle. I pumped milk for the first bottle because I wanted to avoid formula but he was still hungry afterwards. I was so disappointed in myself and I felt like a failure.

I keep hoping that we will try again and he will just magically take my breast...but each time I feel a let down I know he will jerk back and get mad then its over.

I kinda thought nipple confusion was a little weird. My little guy will take pretty much anything...he's not happy about taking the bottle too much though.
Pumping I find is a pain in the @ss!! I find it boring and I never get any more than 3oz!
How much is your little one's drinking at this time?!
I think that's my hardest issue...not sure how much Brady needs because I have no idea how much he gets from my breasts.

I'm tired too. I feel gulity saying it but I'm going to keep trying. My supply has dropped really low but luckily I have a lot of frozen milk that we use. Plus I haven't been drinking much water so I'm back on it today and for now on. Looks like my baby may be allegric to the milk-based formula so  we need to buy Soy. I'm trying to hold out and just use my breast milk.

Ok, I am an OB nurse and a mother and a grandmother.  I don't believe in Nipple Confusion.  You need to keep working with him getting him to take breast.  Pumping is exhausting.  My daughter just had a baby girl in July.  She did the same thing, but Miranda would not give up.  She worked tirelessly with her trying to get her to nurse.  It took a while, but she finally got it.  I am sure the hospital had a reason to give the bottle.  Usually its because the baby's blood sugar has dropped and a bottle is better than an IV.  But one bottle would not cause nipple confusion.  Keep trying to offer breast if you really REALLY want to breast feed.

I had that same problem. My daughter would not take the breast at all, but that was my mistake because I gave her bottle at first. I was pumping for the first month and feeding her that breastmilk. She would only take formula when we were out. Believe me, I was so fed up with pumping I was about to give up. Then one day I was too lazy to get out of bed during a midnight feeding and I just gave her breast and she took it. I was amazed so since then I have only breastfed her. Now she won't even take a bottle. What I'm trying to say is don't give up. Your baby really needs that milk. Try giving him the breast again. Now he's a little older so maybe he'll take it.
