Teething but can't hold on to teethers

I think Brady is actually starting to teethe. I thought it was too early for babies to teethe at 12 weeks but I'm told this is a normal time for things to start. He's been extra cranky, drools a lot and chews on his hands a lot. He also likes it when I use a little rubber oral thing to "brush" his gums and likes chewing on teethers. Another thing that's odd is that he's actually pooping more! LOL before he would go almost every other day and now he goes almost more than once a day and will have poopy toots as well!
My question is about what I can do for him since he can't actually take a teether and put it in his own mouth? He can hold them but obviously isn't coordinated enough to put it in his mouth. I figured he can do it on his own with a cloth maybe? At what point do I give him pain relief like tylenol for it?

I was looking at Oragel today and was going to get some but then noticed that it says your baby has to be 4 months or older and Brady isn't 4 months till the 27th of this month. My friend came over yesterday and showed me that he has top and bottom teeth that you can see. Poor thing. He's been extra cranky but he's been dealing with gas pains too.

My daughter seems to be teething early as well. We noticed it a little after she turned 3 mths. But it has gotten worse. She drools constanstly.. gnaws on her hands and chomping on them.. She'll even try to bite me or my husbands face when we kiss her lol. This past week she has been VERY cranky and fussy and now started tugging at her ear so I know she is teething.

I've been putting a small tiny tiny bit of the baby orajel on her gums and massage it. When she is laying on her tummy I give her the teether because it's easier to chew it then.

It can happen early though because my cousins daughter just got 3.. yes 3 little sprouts of teeth right as she turned 5 mths

I wouldn't give him meds until he looks like its hurting. Its normal for our babies to be teething this early, I know crazy right?! Peri just bites her thumbs a lot and is drooling all over the place. I try to look in her mouth and she still doesnt have anything. The way shes been biting you would think something was there. Another thing I heard was when they are teething they poop more offten.
