Postnatal Bleeding

Ok so my bleeding wasn't that bad even 3 or 4 days after having Brady. It was really starting to die down. Then today DH and I took the baby for a walk and it was through a trail that we always used to take. We had a pretty good pace going and there are many hills and such.
Anyway...so now my bleeding has come back a bit heavy again....is that my body kinda saying that I took it too far? It's only been 2 weeks and a day since I've had him. I'm also hurtin' a bit too...to the point where I took some tylenol. I hope it wears off again...I can't believe how long this goes for!

Did you have a c-section? Even if not, it may be too much walking. I know when I walk I bleed heavy. My baby is going on 6 weeks and my bleeding hasn't stopped completely. My incision also hurts and my doctor prescribed me some antibiotics since she said I could have some infection. Just try taking it easy the next few weeks.

I know that with my bleeding it would come and go until I was 5 weeks. But if I did anything strenuous it would usually be heavier and my whoo-haa and stitches would hurt.

I've had that happen to me a few times.

Alaysha - How bad did they hurt?  I saw that the stitching is starting to fall out yesterday and since then my stitches hurt like they did when I got home from the hospital.  I'd been feeling great for a few weeks until now.  I'm trying to decide if I need to call my dr or not, but I think I'll wait until Monday (I'll be 5 weeks then).

I noticed that my stitches were not coming out after like 4 weeks and they hurt SO bad. DH said it was because the skin was trying to grow over them. Gross. So I made an executive decision and had DH cut them out. Within minutes of them being out I felt better. Went to my 6 week appointment and she says sometimes that happens. If you've had yours in for 5 weeks I'd call your doctor and have her look at them and maybe take them out for you.

Thanks ladies....I didn't have a c-section but I am only a couple weeks so I think I really just over did it with the walking because a day later and it's died down again. I feel better knowing that it's not bad.
I'd be worried if my stitches were still there after that many weeks....mine are already gone but I know the ones she used were extra dissolvable!
Ugh Alaysha....that made me cringe when you said DH cut urs!! LOL

Oh my gosh I was in extreme panic mode but it was the weekend and they hurt so bad I wouldn't have been able to make it to a Monday! I called the office after hours number though and they gave me the go ahead. Total lesson in trust though having DH down there with scissors. LOL.

Awesome!  Thanks!  I am going to have DH take a closer look at it and if there still there on Monday I'll call.  They didn't hurt as much today but the stitches are still sort of there (I can still see part of the string).  I know they weren't the super dissolvable ones, she said that they would fall out.  There different than the ones I had with my son.  I'm just worried that things won't have healed correctly by the 6 week apt.  And wow, alaysha, he cut them out?!?  That's serious trust you have!

Sorry for Hijacking part of this message board...It was just somewhat similar, etc.

Heartherm4 - Since it's just a few weeks in it's so normal!  I had one time around 2 or 3 weeks when I thought the bleeding was done then we went for a long day of Christmas shopping for our oldest and at the restroom during one of our stops I noticed the bleeding getting heavy again and it getting sore down there.  I'd be more worried if it was 5-6 weeks post baby.

I had a c section but I have days where I go without bleeding and then days when I have some spotting...and I'm almost 5 weeks out.  I also notice more pain when I do more activity.  Just try to take it easy...i know it's hard when we are busy mommies!!!
