I usually do wait the 6 weeks, it seems like by that time your bleeding should have stopped and your body is starting to get adjusted again. But take it easy and only do what your body tells you is ok to do. I started out with fast walking and then got up to slow jogs. This time I am doing the Eclipse indoors while I am pregnant, so I am hoping to be able to pick that up when my body feels up to it.
Do you ladies stop exercising a few weeks before birth? Last time I think my exercising made my water break early around the 37-38th week before I actually went into labor so was curious if you have a stopping point?
My dr always said to wait 6 weeks before starting to exercise again and even then to take it slow for another 6 weeks.
After my second I started taking her for walks when she was only 5 days old. I was doing p90x around 4 or 5 weeks so that was way more than my dr wanted to see. For me and I think with any exercise program you should take cues from your body. Take it slow and don't push it. You need to ease back into a routine. I started with walking and worked my way up to heavy exercise. I did have to cut back because it was lowering my milk supply.
I'm really excited to get back to a normal workout at the gym I get so bored now with my light workouts.
