Soft cervix

Hi ladies :)
I turned 38 weeks yesterday and I had a Drs. Appt today & she told me I haven't dilated but my cervix is soft. I'm due Oct 23. Has anyone had the same as me in previous pregnancies or now? With my 1st born he was born at 34 weeks but this is my 2nd pregnacy and it seems she wants to go all the way.

Same with me im 38 weeks and they told me the same its my first baby... me and my fiance have intercourse and i try to do light workouts still nothing...

I'm due Oct 23-25ish and this is my second pregnancy as well. With my first I dilated like 1.5 cm at 37 weeks and had him a day before his due date & with this pregnancy in have a soft cervix but I am not dilated yet.I get braxton hicks contractions but nothing serious. Dilation doesn't really mean much because you can be closed today and then go into labor the next day and be 4cm. Every pregnancy is different.
