I'm doing finger sandwiches and lots of deserts for sure. I'm meeting with all my planners on Sunday to plan my shower for the end of August so I can get everything decided on. :) but I'm telling them to do it cheaper because it's not worth it to spend hundreds of dollars on a party. People can enjoy a party that's cost efficient just as much as an expensive party.
I think we'll do BBQ type food. Probably a crock pot of pulled pork, watermelon, potato salad etc. Dessert and booze too obviously. We're trying to keep it simple and cheap-ish since we're hosting our own.
I guess it depends on what time your party is? I am doing a brunch, so there will be breakfast foods and a few lunch-ish items. Obviously I will have a variety of sweets too. We are also planning on doing a punch bc my family doesn't like throwing dry parties ;) lol but I am lucky because my father is a chef and he generally prepares food for large functions so this will be a piece of cake for him!
Let us know what you end up deciding on!
Download pinterest for ideas that's what I done and it has great baby shower food ideas
My baby shower is the last week of august so it will be hot I'm doing ceviche (incase u don't read spanish) which is imitation crab meat, mixed with diced tomato, onions, cucumber, cilantro, and I mix it with lemon and u serve it with tostadas it's super cheap and delicious. I recommend finding inexpensive dishes. The way I see is ur making a party to receive gifts but why spend so much money when u could have spent it on buying what u need. The less u spend the more u have for the things u didn't recieve.
Walmart has really good subs that u request at the deli that are 6 feet long. Theyre $25, and i believe serves like 20 ppl. Just a suggestion thats cheap and u could do chips and dip with veggi and fruit trays on the side.
