I'm not sure if it's the same with every hospital but for my 2 previous pregnancies (different hospitals) I was not allowed to use any of my clothes. I had to use the hospital robe no undies and no bra. It's their practice incase something goes wrong they don't have to cut my clothes and they don't waste time having to undress me. Now after the delivery they allowed me to change to what I felt comfortable in. So I took pjs over sized ones and long sleeve (cuz it's super cold in there) and button up in front for easy access to breastfeeding. And a loose fitting dress that I used during pregnancy (very comfortable ) to go home in. Since we will still look pregnant when we leave the hospital. Don't forget comfortable slippers
Sports bra with no metal hooks or clasp, something that you don't mind throwing away. Most times the hospital will require that you wear a maturnity hospital gown so no need mess up your stuff during delivery then shower and change later. Is how it normally works. No undies until nurse brings the disposable mesh panties and pads. They do this everyday and have it all figured out because some moms deliver unexpectedly and the hospital and staff are so prepared for that even if you're not right down to a care package of toiletries, diapers, wipes, pacifiers, onesies ect. Just pack light with two outfits for going home that are darker on bottom and loose fitting. Bring two baby outfits and visitors will bring more if you plan on visitors. But good luck
I prefer a loose fitting dress just in case I wanted to walk around or use a different birthing position such as squatting.
