Scared out of my mind

I am 21 weeks and 3 days and hospitalized because my cervix is thinning and there is a chance that my baby boy may not survive, since he is still to young. Since being here I have gotten bad news on bad news on bad news and I have been dealing with it well the one that struck me is the fact that I may give my son Sickle cell anemia as I said in a post before. this news is the only thing that has broken me so far. If there is anyone out there that knows the effect of Sickle cell or has delt with it first hand you may understand why I am so terrified right now idk if I can handle seeing my baby in pain. My partner and I have no idea what to expect now because we did not have any of this in mind. We are now praying as he goes to get tested to see if we could have given it to him.

I am trying to stay stress free but this is really getting to me.

I know it s hard not to do, but try not to stress yourself out.. whatever the outcome you have no control over it and it's not your fault. I am praying for God's Peace to surround you and total healing for your little one.

It also said that if the baby test positive for SCD  he will b treated at the hospital when he is born n the majority of babies will be fine n grow healthy only a few will need special care

I Google babies with sickle cell... it said that if only one parent has the sickle cell gene only the baby will be a carrier (sickle cell trait) he does not have sickle cell disease. No side effects. If both parents have it then the baby has it also. But still it the baby has ir not all experience pain or any type of symptoms. Do you both have sickle cell

Poor mama! I really hope everything gets better for you. That must be hard. I haven't had anything firsthand for sickle cell anemia, but I hope it is just something they think can happen and it doesn't. Just have hope that your son will survive. Be strong for him too, he's going to need you to be there for him and have some faith that all will be just fine.
