Has anyone began shopping for their little one yet? Or made any purchases? I'm 22wks and 3days and I made my first purchases today however my mom disagrees she thinks I should've waited. When is a good time to start shopping?

We are 75% done shopping and are just waiting on the rest until after the baby shower. We started probably at the end of April/beginning of May.  I'm pretty certain the day after our shower(Aug 29) we'll go out and purchase anything we didn't get.

I say do what makes you happy let your mom know you appreciate her opinion.. but do what you want.  My mum is opinionated about baby things too I hear her out but then I reaffirm how I feel or what I want.  I.E. nursery colours.

I started from the day we found out that we were expecting, mainly pampers. I have a one year old, this pregnancy was a complete surprise. So I figure if I start with pampers its OK. But now I start buying clothes, mainly sleepers. I started early even though my husband wanted me to wait, when I go on leave we'll only have one check coming in so I wanted to buy everything so it won't hit us at the end.

I guess only half of what I wrote decided to show up :)

I just put together his crib last night, and we're painting his room tonight. I want to get as much now done and bought, since I know I'm going to get more and more tired

I guess it depends on if you're having a baby shower or anything. I'm not having one so i started shopping at 20 weeks to make sure I have time to afford everything

I'm due Oct 28 and I've pretty much bought everything :) I have terrible OCD with feeling unprepared.. But also I've given my self time to spread the cost too and shop around for the best deals. The only thing I havent bought yet are clothes, in October (UK) time we will be coming into autumn/winter and its all summer stuff at the moment.. HUMPH!! :( lol.. I'm not having a baby shower either to be fair :)

Its been killing me not to by anything cause I'm having my little princess and I see so much cute stuff but I'm going to wait until after my baby shower so I can by what I really need. I'm currently 25weeks plan on having my baby shower around 32 or 34 weeks.
