I'm 5 weeks and my doctor set me up for an appointment when I get to 10 weeks. I thought it was weird up until now.

Usually they want to do an ultrasound between 7 and 10 weeks to measure for dates. That's when it's most effective. They might also want to do some blood work. It's not unusual to wait that long!

I made an appointment as soon as I found out and they confirmed my pregnancy at 5wks 3days. I have another appointment at 7wks 3days. I asked for an earlier appointment because of my previous loss. If you're really worried I'd ask the doctor.

They prob just don't have an opening until that time which if you haven't miscarried it's fine to wait. You can have a vaginal ultrasound by 4 weeks and by 6/7 weeks you can hear the heartbeat . Due date can be caluculated by the measurement of the baby which can be done by 6 weeks I believe . This is my second baby . 1 in heaven and hoping for 1 to raise here on earth <3

I thought it was odd too but,  yes it sounds right.   Depending on your gyn we aren't seen until 7-12 weeks.   I have an 8 week  appt but, 10 week is when we hear heartbeat and to my understanding is when estimated due date is determined (8th week appointment is paperwork/blood work).  Those that are seen early have had complications with past pregnancies or get IUIs etc done....
