pain when sitting.. constipation?

so for the past week or so when I sit down i feel a sharp pain. Talked to my doctor and she recommended stool softeners..anyone else having this issue?

I have been using meralax once a day and it has helped.

im having the same problem, and my doctor told me to start on 6-8 glasses of water a day and plenty of fruit, its helping so far

I'm having the hard stool (so gross) but stool softners always end messy for me... I don't usually have pain pain till I stand or walk a long time :'(
