My first son was, and my son due in Oct will be also.  It was upseating to see it at first. But it heals quickly.  Just use alot of antibacterial paste so it doesn't stick to the diaper.

My son was circumcised and had no problems. You just have to make sure you continue to clean and stretch the skin even after the wound heals so the skin doesn't start to grow together. We never had any problems with the wound sticking to diapers and are happy we had the procedure done. If Sex and the City taught me anything, its that I don't want women referring to my son as a shar pei when he gets older... Just saying.

I've left the decision up to my husband but if we have a boy (it's a surprise!) then he wants the baby circumcised.

I won't be getting it done if I have a boy. I've known multiple men to not have it. They were fine with it, and in fact the were much larger and more sensitive. Its an old practice that just because we're so use to it, it is still continued. Just teach your boy to keep it clean. Some cultures would do it to girls too and take off the lips exposing the clitoris. I couldn't imagine doing anything unnecessary to my kids involving any procedure.

I have 3 boys 1 is circumsized 2 are not, I wish I had done more research before my first son was born. We had him circumsized because his father is. However the healing time broke my heart. If you don't use enough antibiotic cream or vasoline it the wound sticks to the diaper and causes it to bleed, and every time he had a wet or dirty diaper he screamed so awfully. This went on a few weeks after it was healed also, as if he was truly afraid and traumatized by the whole procedure. I was under the impression that it was medically necessary. However I learned later that it is not. There is no need to push back the foreskin to clean an uncircumsized boy, and it does not reduce the risk of uti. Circumsision, originally derived from a religious practice, as they believed circumsizing reduced the pleasure in sex and helped keep men from masturbating which was a sin in those times.  Circumsizing is a personal choice, one which nobody should be judged for. I suggest you research it thoroughly and make your own educated choice on weather or not to circumsize your child.

We are not going to have our boy circumcised.  Daddy is not but we both feel that it is an unnecessary procedure. If he doesnt like this choice as an adult he can change it, but there is no going back once it's done.

I let my hubby decide and he would prefer it. I just dont want my son seeing daddys thing looking different and becoming uncomfortable that he isnt the same.

We are. I asked my sweetheart about it and he said that all of his uncircumcised friends hate that they're not. It's not an especially meaningful reason but important to my sweetheart so I'm letting him have final say.
