Facebook and instagram are not mandatory. It's a relatively new phenomena that people share all the details of their life like that. I have gotten notifications that my friends are cleaning their houses . . . um, don't really care to be 'that' involved in people's lives. lol. I don't personally use it other than to have an account to occasionally see what is going on. Others use it all the time. There is no right or wrong.
Your mother in law seems a bit odd to 'care' if you update people or not. She must want to herself and be trying to respect you --- if you aren't, she feels like she can't. Do you think that could be the problem?
That is so true. Btw, have no idea what inner circle is lol
I deleted fb a little over a year ago so that removed that temptation for me lol. I got tired of the incessant bragging on there, and like you said, I really didn't want anyone in my business who isn't close enough to me to call/text & say 'hey let's go grab lunch'. I update my inner circle with belly progress pics & ultrasounds via snapchat (yes, I'm 27 and I know this is primarily a teenagers app lol) but it still let's me keep in touch with my friends without having to send them picture messages through texting. I say leave the nosy fb stalkers in the dark until your little one is born, then blast away with adorable baby pics! They don't stay that small for long so there's nothing wrong with overdoing it in the beginning I think :)
Do what makes you feel happy and comfortable during your pregnancy. If you want to post all the details and let everyone know in the social media world what you are going through than you should. However, for myself I only wrote about the first time I heard my little man's heart beat for the first time and also that we are having a little boy. Other than that those who want to find things out can use what they use to go on social media sites and message and/or call you to find out how you are doing carrying your precious little one. In the end, you shouldn't have to stress over things like that becuase you already have enough on your mind while pregnant. Good luck. :)
I think its totally up to u. She sounds like how my mom was cuz my mom wanted to announce to everyone the second I told her. I wanted to wait till the first trimester was over just in case something happened. My mom and I actually got into a huge fight about it. In the end she apologized realizing that its my pregnancy and not hers and that it should b up to me when I want to announce thongs and to whom I choose. I think u need to have a talk with ur mil and tell her ur reasons y u decide and hope for the best. If she gets mad about it then I'm sure it won't last long and she will realize that its ur pregnancy and not any of her business. Sounds like she just is really excited and wants to talk about it on social media which is cute and all but in reality she's not the one pregnant, u r. Best of luck!
Nope, no fb hooha for my pregnancy.
Updates & scans of the little one are done via a group conversation on what's app. Only the people I really want to share with are privy to this info. I
recommend you do the same. Wishing you well.
I am 31 weeks and 5 days and ever since I was 15 weeks I've updated friends and family on facebook. I've announced everything but her name. That and her picture will be revealed after she's born. I think it's made my friends on Facebook that I haven't spoken to in a while, more of a chance to be involved and catch up for lost times. But everyone is different and you need to announce your baby however makes you happy:)
I'm addicted to Facebook so yes I do the bump photos and all of it. That being said it's your decision on how public it should be. I would just tell her you want to do the reveal and doing anything before that would ruin it. She probably wants to tell everyone my mil did but I told her she had to wait.
I think it's your choice to share your news when and where you want to. And deleting people is easy and if they ask you one day be like well I don't really like you and didn't need you on my page lol :)
